I had another look at the back of one of the cards, and I believe it said that the set dates from 2006, so that is fairly recently, suprisingly.

The cards were meant to be released in 2006, but I think were delayed to 2007. The company, Strictly Ink, has done sets for the original series, too. TNA was their latest release.

That picture is from one of the two sets of alternate opening titles we never see. Not the ones I talked about where they walk into the sunset, but a different set. You know in the live action titles how they're standing in a circle when they show "The New Avengers"? Yeah, that was part of that alternate set of titles. I have a shot of Gambit in the circle, too.

I must say my scan looks rather lousy, as you can clearly seem my finger prints on it, but the real thing is beautiful. Lovely for banner making too! :wink:

I do! I have this one, the Purdey/Joanna one. Ordered it when it came out. I remember when they were posted on The Avengers Forever, and I decided I had to have one. I could only afford one, but I'm a huge TNA fan, and not so much Cathy, so it wasn't a hard choice. It's on my wall, between a shot of Purdey, Gambit, and Steed, and one of Gareth in his new car. It's lovely. Oh, it's also signed by Joanna. It was extra for that, but it was sort of a no-brainer. (They spelt it "Purdy," though. Apparently when they asked Joanna about it, she said you could spell it either way. For shame, Joanna! )

Go you, Timeless! I'm considering getting one but there's some interesting stuff up on ebay, Avenger-wise. So maybe not.

They're quite lovely, so they're worth the money. Buckingham Covers packaged it up very nicely, too. Joanna only signed them with the agreement that some of the proceeds would go to charity, but I'm certainly glad she did. I'm glad Buckingham did a TNA one all the way around. But then I expect they knew anything with Joanna would sell well.

I got my Steed model kit today. It's got a Certificate of Authenticy and it's No. 0779 of 3000 world-wide. Now I wish I had Emma, too. I found one for sale but it's 125 Euros. Whereas my Steed cost me 50 Euros all in all, including shipping. Good deal, huh? *beaming*

He looks absolutely stunning! The details are amazing, expecially the face. I hope if I ever try to paint him I'll get it right cos if I do, he'll look just like the real Steed.

I've seen those models loads of times but never bought one, so I don't know what the likenesses are like. But you indeed got him for a good price, and if you ever do put him together, I'd love to see him.

I'll show Steed to my Dad next time I get home. He's always asembling model soldiers (Royal navy, around late 18th to early 19th century and other stuff) so he'll know which glue and paint to use. But it'll take me a while to get started. ;)

I love the French comics collection. I actually scanned and translated the comics that were only written in French a couple of years ago, so I'm afraid I beat you to it!

I have in my collection many original trading cards, released in England, some of them are about the New Avengers. There's a good one with Purdey on it, it's the same picture that the one shown on the A&E dvd set.

I think Khell had a couple of those very same sets too, and she was kind enough to send one over. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same cards here, but there must be a topic for it somewhere. *searches* Anyway - I still often take them out and have a look at the pictures: some of them are really excellent.

Anyone have three grand I can borrow?

Or even eight hundred bucks?

What I wouldn't give for a Purdey doll with an outfit (that's the only existing example of the outfit), or Joanna's script. I want to read it!

Not to mention Gambit's TV set.
