Totally unrelated to anything you've posted here, but I adore your new Purdey/Gambit signature. I love how you've made it look like a little note Purdey's scribbled to Gambit--a hopeful little note. Sigh. Just gorgeous. Can I ask what you used to make it?

Haha, that's Ok darling - this bit of the forum is way too quiet: people make divine art over here, we need more of it!

I use Photofiltre and Photofiltre Studio: the first is free - the second isn't, but I've found a code to crack the trial version. I've also got PhotoShop installed on my laptop, but I never use it: I just can not work with it while with PF, I pretty much know how to do all the basics.

I'm glad you like my new signature. I did the blend ages ago, but I just couldn't find the right font type and colour to finish it.

Photofiltre, eh? *Makes note* I'll have to check it out. I just don't have the patience to figure photoshop out. Right now my image editor of choice is Macromedia Fireworks, which is really a web designer's image editor, which is fine, because I do do web design, but it's better with crafting web page friendly images, and less so with doing really complicated/shiny effects and such. So I'll have a look for photofiltre. Do you have a link to a trustworthy download, and a tutorial by any chance? If I had better tools I could probably make some stuff as well.

But I really love the signature, and that you've used some of my piccie scans. The nice thing is that 8x10 scans are so much better quality than book ones, and they look great when work with them. Fabulous! :great:

Hm, web design you do? I must look up that programme some day too...

Neary every hit Google gives you when you type in 'PhotoFiltre' is quite Ok, but I think I got my version from this page: it's available in a couple of languages, but I guess you won't probably need those.

Anyway - if you want to learn how to blend images (like I did with my signature) you'll need PhotoFiltre Studio. Don't pay for it: just download the free trial version, and I'll look up the codex to crack it. (I'm pretty sure I've still got it somewhere...)

And tutorials... Hm, I've never actually used those: I've always just experimented some stuff, but I see if I can find some good ones for you.. I guess this one has some good starters, but if you're really looking for the better stuff, try Youtube. That's probably most helpful.

And yes, I sort of dived into your Photobucket account, and 'borrowed' a couple of your scans. I love making signatures/avatars for TNA, but it's quite hard since most pictures you'll find on the net are either in B/W or in very bad quality unfortunately...

But right now I'm most proud of my new Jennifer banners. I've used a couple of pictures from the BAFTAs last week, and she looks so absolutely stunning...

Yeah, I've used quite a few Macromedia programs in my time. When I was younger, I took a couple of courses in web design, and then worked as a teaching assistant for another one. I learned how to code HTML from scratch, and also how to use a couple of page builders--Front Page, and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Front Page we learned first, and it was easier to learn, but even though Dreamweaver's more difficult, it's the superior program--my pagebuilder of choice. But I built a TNA page last summer using straight html (with a few pages built in Dreamweaver), because I wanted to teach myself CSS, and keep my HTML from going rusty. Fireworks is like a partner program with Dreamweaver, and Macromedia also does a video editing program called Flash, which I knew how to use once upon a time, but have since forgotten. I use Windows Media Maker for all my videos anyway. Fireworks is great because it lets you create images with transparent backgrounds, so you don't have big white blocks around them and stuff. Like I said, it's a web designer's image editor. I have both programs, so if you're interested, send me a private message, and I'll give you some pointers.

Thanks for the links! I'll give them a look. I'd love to be able to blend images and play with Studio, so any help is much appreciated!

Borrow away from my account! That's why they're there--to be enjoyed! It's no fun hoarding them all for myself. If I ever get my site up, I hope to put everything in the account in a more accessible form, so it's easier to browse and such. Another project for the summer...

Woh, website design, that sounds interesting! I know absolutely nothing about HTML, but I somehow do regret that because a few people I know make the most fabulous things using that script... Anyway - if you can manage that, then I'm sure you'll be able to deal with PhotoFiltre, haha. I'll try to find the right codex for you tonight... *cross fingers I've still got it*

Anyway - because I change my signature so often, here's the Gambit/Purdey one we talked about:

I loved web page design--I used it for my fine arts credit, because the band teacher was so bloody annoying that I couldn't make myself take another year of band off him (which is sad, because I liked music). But web page was brilliant fun, my all-time favourite class. I'm indebted to my teacher for forcing us to learn coding really well before we got to rely on a page builder to write basic code for us. I'm still a novice at CSS, and I really want to learn Java one of these days, but HTML is invaluable. When I post my site, maybe I'll show how I made it! Maybe I can run tutorials. :lolol:

I'd love to play with photofire, though, because my image editing for pure shinyness, isn't a patch on yours. And thanks for posting the Purdey/Gambit sig--I love it dearly.

Wow, that is great! You've been teasing us so much with the idea of your web page with all (New) Avengers related stuff, I can't wait, haha! Good luck on making it, and please let us know when you've finished it!

I'm glad you like the signature. It was originally meant as an entry for the TNA art contest, but I never finished it. I prefer the Joanna related signatures on the forum though, so feel free to use it if you like some time.

I'll definitely let you know when it's finished. I haven't worked on it since school started, because I got crazy busy and didn't have the time, but when I feel up to it again I'll crack it open and start fiddling. When I do post it it'll probably be a work-in-progress. I've got the layout done, but the actual content in some areas is incomplete to say the least. But hey, that's what updates are for. The day I get a url, you'll know about it!

Off to poke at photofiltre now--both of them! :great:

The Joanna one you're using at the moment is pure love
And I wanna frame the Purdey/Gambit one and put it on my wall. Or even better, use it as wallpaper

Haha, I'm affraid that's not gonna work: the original picture is far to small to make a good wallpaper out of it... I could try something with the HQ Joanna pictures though, but I'm trying to focus more on the avatars and banners right now.

I'm glad you like my knew one: to be honest, I quite regret the text I used: ''English Rose'' would have been so much nicer, but I'm not sure if I'm able to recreate the blend once more...

Can I ask how you blend? And how you put shiny backgrounds and stuff in? And where you're getting said shiny backgrounds? Are you making them? See, you've made me go poking. Now I've got questions.

Haha, darling, that's Ok. I'm gonna write you an explanation, but you must give me some time to typ it all out..

I usually blend two similar pictures (examples are the first banners I've posted) but I now I'm experimenting a lot with textures, which is quite nice too.

I'm gonna work on some tutorial for you - cross fingers I'm not too bad at explaning... :lolol:

Thank you! :great: That's above and beyond the call of duty. If it's easier just to link me somewhere, go ahead, but if you can explain it, it would be lovely. I was poking last night and nothing was coming out anywhere near as lovely as yours. You're a star!

Haha, it's Ok sweetie. The tutorials on Youtube are quite Ok, but I think it might be more helpful to work it all out in screencaps.. It's the very least I can do after all the lovely fanfic you've shared with us.
