I saw it in stores the other day, my friend picked it from the shelf, being very suprised: ''Hey, that's Patsy!''

Hanneke bought it, and one of the episodes doesn't work. And now I'm afraid to buy it, because I'm wondering if that's just the case with her dvd, or with all of them? Have you bought it yet Maartje?

No, I haven't bought it yet (I'm kinda broke at the moment..) but I'm sure Hanneke can return her copy if it doesn't work - I'm pretty sure it's the DVD and not the serie... What episode is it?

That would probably the best thing to do, and as soon as possible of course.. :P What's wrong with it by the way?

No idea, I haven't seen it, but apparently the whole episode doesn't work or something.

The reason why I'm questioning all the dvd's is because a friend of mine once bought a Will & Grace dvd box, and 1 episode didn't work. She returned it and got another one, same problem. And this happened 3 times in a row. So that's why I'm slightly suspicious..

That sounds really odd, in that case something probably has gone wrong while producing a whole bunch of DVDs... I think it might be best to wait for her to get a second copy, and see if that one works as it should.. Where did she buy it, Free Record Shop?

Although I haven't bought the DVDs in question, I just thought I'd say that I've had this happen before. I bought the DVD set of the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" TV series, and for some reason when playing episodes the picture was all pixelated and jerky and the sound cut in and out. I returned the set, got a new one, and experienced the exact same problem, so I tend to think in such cases it's a problem with a) the DVD itself or b) the way the DVD interacts with your particular player. Might I add that with some button pushing (I believe I went to scene selection, picked a random scene, and then skipped back to the beginning) I was able to watch all the episodes without trouble. So your friend might want to play with it a little before returning it, or at the very least check it on someone else's player. If it works it's her player. If not, the disc is just faulty and she should get a refund.

I bought series 1 some time ago and I have had no problems with the set .
So my guess is it's just a bad copy that your friend Hanneke has bought .

Anybody have any idea when series 2 will be released ?

Completely forgot about this topic.. I've got a copy of series 1 too now, and there's nothing wrong with mine, so I hope Hanneke has been able to solve this problem meanwhile...

Yes , both series have been available in the UK for some time now .
I wanted to order series 2 from the UK as well but I'm gonna hold off a little while longer .
Hopefully the Dutch release of series 2 will be out soon ...

I know series 1 was shown in The Netherlands on Nederland 2, in either 2005 or 2006. I managed to watch 1 episode of it back then. Series 2 hasn't been broadcast, as far as I know..

Canvas always has the good stuff: various comedy shows and even the Northern Lights was shown. Good for you!

I did
But because I only happened to catch the 3rd or 4th episode back then, I didn't understand it. So I actually watched series 2 first, when it was shown on the BBC, and then I watched series 1. Bit odd, I know..

I suppose you've already got a copy of the English release?

Anyway - it's really nice that they're releasing the second series 2, I never thought they would. I'm going to get myself a copy as soon as possible. :hyper:
