French and Saunders

I'm sure you guys must have heard of the comedy partnership Jennifer has been involved with for years:

They've ''retired'' from doing their sketch show half a year ago, but since these girls introduced me to the fabulous world of English comedy, we owe them a cheer for all the great material they've written over the years.

French and Saunderssss BAH BAH DOOOEEEEOOOO

I was just watching series 1 of their series, and I do love it - the way Dawn's cheekiness comes through in her acting, and the amazing range of facial expressions. I think series 1 and 6 are my favourite

Re: French and Saunders

Haha, oh yes, I love series 6, but F&S are at their best when they're performing live, I think. The interaction and vibe going on between them is amazing - they know each other so well, and that just shows off.

Ahaha yes, I just couldn't resist. I just love their movie parodies, they're so accurate and hilarious... My stomach ached for a whole week after I first watched Mamma Mia! - that movie will be ruined forever!

(C'mon girls, let's get the Jennifer board going)

Re: French and Saunders

I haven't dared to rewatch Mamma Mia since the spoof came out. I might just give it a go this Christmas
Though the song Does Your Mother Know will be eternally ruined for me. I can't get the image of Joanna out of my head (nor do I want it to) :lmao:

You haven't seen it since it aired?! Why, why are you keep aloof from the great laughter and comedy madness that is French and Saunders? :lolol: No seriously - you should rewatch it again. (with me!)

Christine Baranski is fabulous, but Joanna parodying her is even better. Boy, do I wish they'd done Super Trouper as well!

Phew. :lolol: I think I've watched the actual film for about three or four times since the spoof aired, but I still burst out in hysterical laughter everytime I watch the ''Chiquitita'' and ''Does Your Mother Know'' scenes. It's just too good.

Re: French and Saunders

I know, and I won't be here to listen to it! :doubt: I guess I'll have to catch up later - this is really exciting though. I don't think we've had a proper project of anything done by simply the two of them ever since they stopped performing their live show!

Ooh I didn't know that. I'll definitely be listening to that. I believe we can even get BBC radio via our satellite dish, so I'll be annoying my parents with it as well

Shame on you. I can't deny both Jennifer and Dawn's taste in music are fantastic. They play oldies but some really nice modern stuff as well.
