Isn't it though? I love it a little too much. I think it's one of my favourite things on my wall, maybe even the favourite (just edging out my giant Life on Mars poster  ). I love his mouth in it. Bow lips are brilliant.

I should hang some stuff on my walls too, would certainly cheer up the room.
I'd love to have this picture on my wall  :

I love that picture, too. I wish there were more publicity shots of just Gareth and Joanna together, looking a bit more natural and like the friends they really were. I think that's why I love my signature so much.

Hanging stuff on your walls is a great way to cheer up a room. You can hardly see the walls in mine anymore, I have so much stuff on them. What can I say, I hate wallspace.

His death was heartbreaking really, I couldn't believe it, it's still something hard to talk about. I've got the impression that we're still in 2007, that time stopped, he really brought something to the Avengers History and will never be forgotten.

His relation with Joanna was excellent, it can be shown very clearly, it's so delicious to watch them other and other again, almost quarelling, or not being agree on such and such issue.

I was at school when I found out, and I spent the next half hour crying. It was so surprising because no one knew he was ill, and so devastating because he was so brave about it. Joanna was so close to him, she must have been one of the few people he told. It broke my heart to hear her comments: "I loved him dearly." It was both sad and sweet to know just what good friends they were. I wrote her a condolence letter, but I have no idea if she got it.

I discovered Gareth and Gambit at a very influential time in my childhood. He was my first TV crush, and he meant, and continues to mean, a lot to me. I'm so sorry I never got a chance to meet him. You are sorely missed, Gareth.

When I heard that he'd died, I hadn't watched TNA yet. However, I was already very much a Joanna fan, and of course still thought it was very sad, considering he was far too young to die

He was much, much too young. 65 isn't very old anymore. Gareth and TNA were real touchstones of my teenage years, so it really affected me, and continues to do so. I wrote a whole little letter to get my emotions out after I'd heard. I was so glad I only had one class that day, because I was really numb and unable to concentrate.

I believe Gareth was cremated, and his ashes were given to his family in Surrey (he grew up in Surrey, and lived there when he died, so I think he felt close to that place). I'm a little sad, because I was hoping when I did eventually go to England, I'd be able to visit his grave and pay tribute. But I'm sure that's what he and his family wanted (his youngest son was only 19 when he died), so I hope he had a lovely service. :crybaby:

Godness ! There's no other way to pay a tribute to him anymore, except if we go where he lived. But nonethess...I would have been so happy to deliver one single word even in front of his grave.

It is a bit sad, isn't it? I would have loved to just say something privately, but I certainly don't want to bother his family. I guess the best we can do is continue to love the work he did and remember him that way.

You're right. But on the other hand, there's a good thing to keep in mind : Joanna, she's still with us, and she still continues to bring life to this link between Gareth and us. Even after the series, they were still very close, kept in touch each other.
She permits us to remember him and maybe considering Gareth as still being alive (At least, his spirit). That's what I think.

I just got a new Gareth article yesterday, this one from 1996 about his wedding. So you can see his wife, Mandy, and youngest son, Jason, which is kind of fun.

I got the magazine off ebay. There's loads of stuff on there to be found. I love that he stuck with Mandy for a decade to make sure she was the one, since he'd been married twice before, and it hadn't worked out. Seems he finally found the right girl in the end, which is nice to know. I'll bet she misses him terribly, though. :crybaby:

This is the first time I've ever seen a picture of Jason, though. He must have been only 18 when Gareth died, but at least Gareth got to see him grow up.

It had been sitting on ebay for months, so I thought "What the heck?" and went for it. Glad I did now--happy you like it.

Gorgeous Gambit picture I'd never seen before, courtesy of PURRR (which seems to have nicked all the rest of its Gareth pictures from my album...)

I took a look at fanmail and noticed Gareth's former address.
