The odd thing is, is that when I bought my ring, I asked the lady in the shop on what hand I should wear it. It is most common to wear it on the left, unless you're a leftie:

Her ring sometimes does look green-ish instead of black, even though I'm fairly sure it's an onyx.

I wear mine on my left, even though I'm right-handed, just to mix things up (I wear my watch on my right wrist. I realise that this is technically "wrong," but for me it never made sense to wear a watch on the opposite hand. My right hand's right there when I'm writing. Why would I look elsewhere?) I'm pretty sure Joanna's stone is black, too. Onyx probably reflects colours and such.

Correction: you wear the ring on the opposite hand, I messed up my previous post. I'm right-handed, so I wear mine on the left, and so does Joanna. I used to wear my watch on the left too, but since it doesn't really match my ring, I'll be following your example Timeless.

It's funny how many stones they can do though, but not all of them are pretty looking. Lapis Lazuli for instance is a beautiful stone, but it doesn't really work for a ring.

Well, I did it right by accident then, just by wearing it opposite my watch. There we go!

Some stones you just can't cut properly for certain settings. I'm not surprised some don't work for rings.

I think I've solved the mystery of Jo's ring. I don't think we were right about the Onyx, it's bloodstone - that's why it sometimes looks black, but it is in fact, very dark green. (with bits of red in it) Stones used to be a hobby of mine, and I still find myself trying to recognize as many as I can, haha.

You have to look at it really closely, but thanks to all the HQ picture we've got of Jo, that's not a problem. Here's a picture of what the stone (with loats of red) looks like.

Oh, you're right, it does have little specks of other stuff in it, doesn't it? Cool! Bloodstone! That's awesome. Thanks, Maartje--never would have guessed that. ^^

I recognised it, because I have one. I told you I've collected stones for a while, didn't I? Well, I dug them up, and it's most definitely a bloodstone she's wearing.

It's pretty, I'd love to take a closer look at it.

I can see how having one would help identify it. Cheers to Maartje and and her stone knowledge.

That sounds a bit... sad. It is. Ah well, I've got an onyx somewhere, heart-shaped, maybe I should wear it again. *dilemmas*

Alright, I shall stop spamming this thread now.

It is. I'm downloading all the episodes again (had to remove them because of a lack of space on my hard drive), I just love Kate.

We can buy you one when we go to London in January?
