How to put a link on a word...

It's a bit embarrassing but I have to ask something.
How do you put a html-link on a word. Like if I want to mark the words CD1 with the download link. Can someone please let me know?
I'm afraid I'm such a fossil with this kind of stuff... Thank you very much in advance!

Re: How to put a link on a word...

That's Ok Britta, feel free to ask anything about the forum you don't really get.

You have to use BBCodes to post words that you can link on and that will redirect you to another webpage. This is how it works:

[ url = http://www.google.com ] place word/name of file [ / url ]

Without the spaces - I left those out because you wouldn't be able to see the BBCodes. Obviously you can insert any link you like, I just randomly picked Google. Don't worry - you'll learn these codes by heart fairly quickly.

I hope this has been of any use to you.

Hi Mara,

Thanks for explaining. I will try it out ASAP. I thought I had to use this BBC code but just didn't know how. Your help is - as always - much appreciated!

Have a nice weekend!
Britta

I'll leave this thread open for another week or so then, so you can always come here again if it doesn't work out for you. :thumb:

You guys aren't alone--I found BBC Code hard to figure out at first, too, even though I'm pretty much fluent in HTML (all of my site is coded by hand). BBC Code sort of went against all my instincts as a coder, but I'm on two forums with it so I've figured it out eventually. So don't be afraid to ask me, either, if you need help with any html/bbc stuff. I don't mind. ^^

If you just hover your cursor over the little "URL" button, a box pops up showing you the correct format to make a link. It works that way for all the buttons/code functions. ^^

Haha, it will take you a while but you'll definitely get used to it.

Glad I could be of any help! (I'm locking this topic now)
