There's more to Joanna than AbFab: here's the place to talk about the other work she has done!

As always. :d Did you catch that glimpse of her with all the make-up (the paint) on her face too? It looked really cool, haha.

It looked so cool! I really can't wait to see this now  :hyper:

Haha, yes, I noticed that too.

I love how this documentary is set in Egypt too, as cats used to be very important to their culture. My father visited Egypt one day too, and he bought me a little sculpture of a cat, entirely made of stone. It's really wonderfully done with some nice details: he told there were references to these animals everywhere in for instance, the pyramids.

My aunt went there too !
In the eighties, If I remember.
She brought a statue representing a cat too !!, it's a sort of black stone and it's a little bit heavy.

Yeah the ancient Egyptians were crazy about cats. I believe Cleopatra had a whole palace full of them.

They are sorts of "Tomb-Keepers".
They protect the spirit of the dead body from the others.

That sounds exactly like the present my father bought me! I've tried to find out what kind of stone it is made from, because it really is rather heavy. I love it though, it's a lovely souvenir.

Well, there's also this text written on a black stone, the "Rosetta Stone".
And when she was in Egypt, she bought a reproduction of it, and the cat was made of the same stone I guess. I touched them and tried to compare, the stone seems to be identical on both objects.

But I don't know what that stone was made of, what component was used...

The real Rosetta Stone however, is in Britain. It belongs to the British Museum, I saw it when I visited London last year. I think I know what you mean though - these Egyptian gifts are rather mysterious, aren't they?

I was just thinking... Can you believe how lucky she actually is? She gets to travel all around the world with the Beeb paying for all the coasts, and in fact, even gets paid to do so! She's a lucky one, Jo. She really is.

Quite right, Egyptians' legacy is mysterious and we're still enquiring nowadays. I'm also very captivated by all the stories about possible curses, it's frightening. Do you believe in that ? ^^

New article about Cat Woman (24/08/09)

http://www.itv.com/presscentre/presspac ... fault.html
Unfortunately, we can't access to the press pack.

"Joanna Lumley: Catwoman, a two-part documentary about cats will be on ITV1 on Sunday 6th September at 7pm and Sunday 13th September at 7pm. " (in the September issue of woman&home magazine )

And I must admit this made me laugh!

Can I just say that I love the dress that she's wearing? It could have been really dull looking in anyone, but it does work for her.

She's wearing the same piece of clothing, it has probably been shot the same day. About the first video, like when she firmly says that cats can't be trained, it's so true. She's very clever. How great it was to see the Gurkhas Adventure again, thus resuming what happened recently.

And the second one, totally happy, especially at the end, about AF of course, 'They're not dead', fortunately, we've got to see more of Patsy and Eddie.

Just one problem: how am I going to watch this? I haven't found a decent live streaming yet, except the one on the ITV website, which doesn't work for me. Hm...

According to the ITV website, the show will be available online straight after it's broadcast, so you can catch up.

The website's really rather nice I must say. There's a gallery with some new pictures, I think we haven't seen before: http://www.itv.com/lifestyle/catwoman/catwomangallery

The error of technical issues kept appearing, but I guess that might be the problem then.

Still no luck with any of the other free online TV streams though.

Edit: It's rather small, but it works! click here!
