Extraordinary Documentary !
Joanna travelled around the world, from a festival in Belgium to Mexico, going to Egypt, Japan !
Magnificent countrysides.

The Japan Episode was great, especially when a girl mentioned a very old legend, totally scary, about a woman who was eaten by a cat and the animal possessed her. The woman had forbidden her husband to go to their bedroom but that one didn't obey and when he went into it, he saw his wife eating mice, fish and when she showed her face, it was...A CAT ! :squee:

Beautiful pyramids in Egypt, when she visits one, a guy makes some light via reflection, by using a mirror. We've got wonderful drawings on the walls.

Big phenomenon in Japan, with the Hello Kitty's  , well known around the globe, and the "lucky cat", an emblem in Tokyo.
Very impressive when Jo visited the apartment of a girl, she had many clothes for her kitten, she even disguised him as a little king, it was so cute.

Joanna really captivated me, especially when she was in Mexico, trying to catch a jaguar. She failed there, after trying several times but she reached her objective when she visited a man who had two jaguars, in a cage, they were brothers. They were so nice, they acted like little cats when they rolled on the ground. ^^

I'll definitely buy it on DVD, it was astonishing !

I'm so glad that you loved the documentary so much! :squee: I went out to dinner tonight, so I'm hunting for torrents right now, so I can catch up as soon as possible! I remember the DVD release being set for tomorrow, so you can order it right away, haha.

Ohh !! Need to buy it ! Thanks Maartje ! :thumb:
Oh yes, it was incredible !
And when she was in Japan, she visited a temple with many statues representing the Lucky Cat and she even went to the Egyptian Museum, in Cairo. And that place was used in one of my favourite films !
 ^^

Oh, that sounds amazing! My father has been to that museum I believe though, and he absolutely loved it too. I really can't wait to catch up with this documentary, I've been looking forward to it for weeks!

And the shot used for commercials... ^^ Joanna with a cat and a blue title ! And a nice song in the background.

But I didn't see the shot with Joanna on the boat, holding a British flag, remember ? Cause we could see this picture on the trailer if I'm not crazy.

Aw, that's a shame... I don't pick up the phone, nor do I open the door when I'm watching these kind of things. We usually get several phonecalls on Sunday nights, but because I used to be too busy watching Jam and Jerusalem, I just let it ring, haha.

That sucks. Well, if you're lucky (and living in the UK) you'll be able to catch up rather soon, I guess. The link I've previously posted leads to the Catwoman ITV website, where you can find the documentary.

Hm, I have the same ''technical difficulties'', so maybe I am able to watch the ITV channels after all! They're no BBC channels as far as I'm concerned, so there's still hope, haha.

Ah well, I guess we'll just have to wait for the torrents then.

Imagine getting all the genes. I love being Canadian, but I just know that I have all the Britishness bred into me. All my European roots didn't dilute it at all.

Same for me, Maartje, born in the wrong country...
Stucked here, in France, where everyone is rude...
There's a total lack of respect here and I want to move to England, dear country that I love so much !!

About the documentary, I've missed to mention the greatest part of it.
Joanna, while visiting Egypt, asks a woman 'how do say Cat here ?', the girl answers 'Miaww'. Then, Jo laughes ! ^^

I'd love to come live there for a few months of the year. I think I'd feel very at home. It's raining now, and I love it. I'm just English by blood (I'm also Scots, and love that, too, but those genes didn't chip in when it came to phenotype  ). I'd like to see all of the Isles, actually, not just England. I think I'd love Scotland. But I'd never want to stay away from Canada forever. I'm an Anglophile, but still a proud Canuck.

I've burned the first part on a DVD so I could watch it on the telly, and it's just such a wonderful documentary! During the intro, my very own cat came to disturb me and fell asleep next to me on the couch, haha.

I loved how she travelled to so many different countries to find out what meaning cats have in modern society. I think it was her trip to Egypt that I found most fascinating, but also her stay in Tokyo (indeed famous for its popular Hello Kitty) was really interesting.

She really does adore cats like so many of us do, so it was great to see a documentary presented by Joanna and devoted to these wonderful animal. I can't wait for part 2 to be aired next week!

I've just checked the TV ratings, and Catwoman drew 3.9 million viewers, so that's not too bad. ^^

Plus the people who can not watch it on the television, so catch up on the internet, like us!

I bet that 3.9 million of those people were watching out of interest in Joanna Lumley rather than in cats, but I hope next week's episode will get the same ratings. That way the BBC will hopefully continue in the production of these wonderful Lumley documentaries.

Lucky Jojo haha
It's a shame we don't have the access to it on ITV.com !!!
oohh, They also include viewers from the Internet (about the ratings) ! That's so good ! Hope they'll notice other European Countries and do something on their website, I don't understand why they keep letting it available only for those who live there.
