oohh, They also include viewers from the Internet (about the ratings) ! That's so good ! Hope they'll notice other European Countries and do something on their website, I don't understand why they keep letting it available only for those who live there.

Yeah, I guess so. :lolol: I read somewhere that you have to pay for your all channels on TV, not just the extra stuff? That explains why the BBC wouldn't make anything available for non-paying European countries...

Humm, that's not good to know that...
Even for ITV ?
Well let's rejoice then, we've got them in streaming, for free, right down on our computer. ^^

We pay for a TV License and that pays or the channels I think,
I don't care really
as long as I get to watch TV,
but we do get catch up Over here on the internet

We have to pay a licence for the BBC. An annual fee of £142.50 ($235.00). For that you get all the TV channels, radio and internet goodies - I think that's fair.

ITV is supported by TV adverts and sponsors.

And because you all pay for your tv licence, iPlayer etc aren't available outside the UK, because it would be unfair, since we don't pay anything for it.
It's a pity though, because there are so many great programmes I'd love to watch.

True, but as ITV isn't financed by the British licence payer I looked it up and found this ...

http://www.itv.com/help/itvplayervideoh ... eofaqs/#11

I live outside the UK and cannot watch programmes, why?

We do not hold international rights to all of our programming so video content is supplied only to users with IP addresses in the UK. Some users in Britain may be affected by such geographic blocking if their internet service provider uses servers outside the UK.

Ah, that does explain a lot. Apparently, you can use BBC iPlayer if you find yourself a proper British IP address, but that is said to be pretty hard...

Well I tried a stupid thing on the last day, I'll never abandon haha ! :lmao:
I selected London Time on my computer and decided to play the ITV thing.
It worked at first, I had obtained information about such and such program, that I had to click on 'More than 18' because the series contained some violent sequences.
But when it was gonna begin...The same and tragic problem came out again !!!

By the way, I've recorded Catwoman, but not watched it yet. Thinking about waiting until all three parts have been shown and then watch all three together.

The ratings look good - hope they keep up.

Ah, I think you're right. Her next doc. on ITV, Jewell of The Nile, is a four-parter.

Why is it suddenly all ITV? The Nothern Lights was broadcast by the BBC, which was really great for viewers abroad. That mean catching up again...

I do love her documentaries, but I don't want her to stop making TV shows either. Hm, dilemmas, dilemmas...

Maybe we should create a new topic for this documentary?

Well, I gave in and watched the first part of this tonight. Up to her usual standard I thought. I'm not even a cat lover, but her enthusiasm is contageous.

Here's a review by someone who is not so much of a cat lover. I don't agree with her at all when it comes to cats, but I must say I had a good laugh reading this column.

Bloody hell, that article just didn't make sense at all!
Since we're talking stereotypes here, I am not a cat person, but a dog person. Though I love nearly all animals, including cats, and I thought the documentary was fantastic.
You really don't have to be a cat lover to find the documentary fascinating or interesting.
I think that woman has some serious personal issues to work through

Haha! The documentary's good fun even if you're not a cat lover, because it's presented by Joanna. She can make the dullest thing sound interesting and fascinating by the passionate way she talks about things.

I laughed, because it's so recognisable. I'm a total cat lover, and I must say we're sometimes rather tragic, thinking that our beloved kitten is the sweetest and cutest animal in the world. My neighbours do not so much agree however...

I agree with you Philippa. I'm a dog person too, but I thought this was a great doc - and, like I say, Joanna's enthusiasm takes you further than you thought you'd go.

That face on the cat in the various hats was a picture, as if it was saying "The indignity!"

The channel's not working for me - I don't know if that's my computer or a general problem, but it's annoying either way. I really want to watch the second part live tonight: does somebody have an other link please?
