ITV1 orders more Morgan, Clunes and Lumley
9 July, 2009
ITV1 is set to cement Piers Morgan, Martin Clunes and Joanna Lumley as faces of its factual output with three travel-themed shows for 2010.
Doc Martin star Clunes will follow Island Journeys by fronting Horsepower, a 2 x 60-minute travelogue exploring the history of man’s relationship with horses.
The actor, who owns seven horses, will journey from Aintree to Outer Mongolia to uncover the social and industrial roles that horses have played.
The show will be jointly produced by ITV Granada Factual North and Buffalo.
Meanwhile, Joanna Lumley will travel the length of the River Nile from its mouth on the beaches of the Mediterranean to its remote riches in the highlands of Uganda.
Tiger Aspect’s 4 x 60-minute Jewel of the Nile follows ITV Studios’ previously announced 2 x 60-minute series, Joanna Lumley: Cat Woman.
Piers Morgan will follow up shows visiting Dubai, Monaco and Los Angeles by heading to Shanghai, Las Vegas and Marbella. The shows will again appear under the banner Piers Morgan On… and will be produced by Splash Media.
The commissions were all made by ITV director of factual and daytime Alison Sharman.

These photographs were indeed probably taken during a break from filming - it looks promising!
(positive thinking!)

Did you catch that glimpse of her with all the make-up (the paint) on her face too? It looked really cool, haha.
