Soo Choy definatly ruiens the episode for me he's basically a fat englishman, squinting his eyes and doing a really crap impression of a chinese gangmaster

I cant decide if like this episode or not

'Trap' has some good action scenes and dialogue but Soo Choy annoys the hell out of me ... :chair: :d

I've come to the conclusion I like parts of it, and dislike others. The bits with the trio are really brilliant, actually, and the Soo Choy bits are horribly cringe-worthy. But I can't hate it overall. It's okay--we can have an oddball episode that's in both camps.

Yay! Consensus!

We're probably the only forum to ever have a thread just talking about--and saying mostly nice things about it!

I'd wait until we end up with a thread entitled "The Gladiators: The Unappreciated Classic." Then we can break out the padded room. :lolol:

I agree, it's not a bad episode at all, but was it that hard to find a Chinese actor to play Soo-Choy?

Clearly, because how else can you explain that cringeworthy performance? (What's with that voice? He sounds like he needs a throat lozenge.)

Anyway, I'm not that mad yet--I haven't seen The Gladiators in a zillion years, but from what I remember it wasn't anything to write home (or a thread) about. So I guess I'm safe for now.

Re: The 'Trap' episode

I don't think I've even seen the full Gladiator episode - I remember it being so boring that I just sort of 'scanned' it, haha.

And hee, we're not loonies, just a 'lil bit obsessed.

Re: The 'Trap' episode

I watched this episode, yesterday. I laughed again, when they're on the plane, to Soo Choy's place, I love when the chinese falls from the engine.
Purdey screams "No!!" whereas the silly man shouts ! :lmao:
Why did Gambit get this idea ? Opening the door I mean, it's very dangerous. :lmao:
But that's him, he likes risks, it seems apparently.

And of course....THE UNFORGETABLE CASE OF GEORGE WASHINGTON :
"No, it's just a street cleaner, he doesn't look like George Washington at all".
"You know what I'm talking about"
And Purdey who begins to titilate Gambit, again ! :lmao:
Don't move or...I call the New Avengers rightaway !

Well, the plane was taking them off somewhere they didn't want to go, and they weren't going to be able to force the cockpit, so opening the door was the only real option. Once the plane landed they would have been trapped and unable to escape. Risks either way. They did a terrible job of flying the plane anyway, though.

The George Washington conversation about drinking at the disco inspired a whole fanfic for me. So yes, I love it just as much as you.

It's on ff.net, with all my other stories. It's called "The Anniversary" and is part of my series of TNA fics continuing the timeline of the show. It can be read here.

All my other stories are here.

If you do read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. ^^
