Re: Joanna Lumley: Cat Woman

I love so much this documentary : it makes me love my kitty even more
I hate when people put them clothes and stuff like fake claws. :yuk: Cats (and dogs) are not dolls or toys. And that bloody woman who "plays" with genes to create cats with short legs! Cats need long legs to jump, hunt, run, I think it's really awful to play with genes just for fun, I wanted to slap that stupid woman!

After watching this documentary I'm proud of my motto : Happiness is being owned by a cat!

Re: Joanna Lumley: Cat Woman

Aw, that is lovely Esther. I totally agree with you by the way - cats are no toys, and people should learn how to treat them with respect. I didn't like that woman who puts clothes on her pets either - they're cats, not frogs or mouses, so don't force them to look like one.

And I really like your motto, haha. My cat definitely owns me, but I don't mind it at all.

Re: Joanna Lumley: Cat Woman

I just finished watching part 2 and I thought it was amazing!
Now why doesn't it surprise me that the strangest things that are done with cats happen in America and Japan? (no offense to anyone living there btw)
I thought the woman who runs that sanctuary in California was amazing. She really does some great work. If only there were more people like her.
And I loved that Joanna went to Namibia, though I am slightly jealous, because Namibia is very high on my wish list of places I want to visit. Unbelievable that she actually got so close to a cheeta.

Like I said before, I'm not a "cat person" as they call it, but I really loved this documentary, and I'll be buying the DVD soon

That's exactly what I thought... Playing with genes really is animal mistreatment I think, and it just gets me really agree. How can that woman be convinced she's doing nothing wrong? Cats need a tail, long legs and ears to survive.

On the other hand, it's touching to see someone taking care of these wonderful animals - I really loved what that lady did for them. I got my own cat from a cat shelter, and passing all those dumped animals is heartbreaking.

I really loved this documentary, partly because cats are my favorite animals, but also because she did a fabulous job. ^^

Re: Joanna Lumley: Cat Woman

I've just found a lovely article about Catwoman: it was published weeks ago, but it includes some nice background information, so I decided to post it here. Click!
