Joanna's voice

New postby DiVicenzo on 16 Sep 2008, 17:40

I was just thinking!
When I first connected to the Internet all those years ago I used AOL which came with Joanna's voice saying 'You've have email' and 'Goodbye' when you disconnect. I don't if members here have these sounds but I still have, so if you would like me to send them to you to use on your computer. as I still do all these years after AOL. I will send them to you :D
Or can I post them somewhere here?

You know, I've never actually heard it.
I think it's awesome that people heard her voice for that.... how cool can you get! She's so incredible... but of course, we already knew that :D

I could go on for hours

She talked about her voice-overs on the Graham Norton Show and I remember her telling about the 'you've got mail'-one..

Can I please have them too? Joanna has the most beautiful and pleasing voice I've ever heard so far. It's calm and relaxing, and great for voice-overs. :D

I thought there'd be a thread dedicated to Jo's voice....after all, if any tom, dick or harry heard it once and was told 'this here is the amazing Joanna Lumley' then they'd recognise her voice for the rest of their lives.

It's almost a whisper, yet you can hear every word like it's being shouted from the rooftops.

I want to say, everyone should have a voice like Joanna's, but of course I don't want to say that really, because you have to have the right personality to match the voice, which is reserved for Joanna and Joanna only

Joanna's gorgeous, soothing voice is as divine and beautiful as she is, inside and out    I too could listen to her speak for hours on end (in fact, I have) and just be lulled by her soft, heavenly voice.

^I love that!
I've been listening to Jo reading 'Pride and Predjudice' over the past few days, and I just love it. Her voice is so enchanting, and I love it how she does all the different voices of the characters, she's really good at it

I love her voice in Corpse Bride (the singing!), brilliant. And I love the way she says 'oh dear', with that silly posh accent, haha.

I love, love, love Joanna's voice. The first time I went to London in May of last year to see F&S, my husband and I got on the tube for the first time and when I heard the female voice come on to announce the next stop, I immediately told him that Joanna should be the person to do that. I would love to get on the tube and be able to hear Joanna announce all the stops and hear her say "Mind the gap." Listening to her speak is so relaxing...I could close my eyes and listen to her all day long!
