Re: Please help, failed pilgrimage?

Welcome to the forum! So funny that you actually went skeeing there, I think Val D'Isere must be one of the least visited filming locations haha. I haven't got the foggiest about where and when the filming took place though, so I'm affraid I can't help you.

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

Thanks for the pictures, i've been to the Patisserie and of course Harrods and Harvey Nicks!

Has anyone ever worked out where the house is in Holland Park?!

I'm new to the forum too, joined after re-watching the entire 5 seasons and specials of Ab Fab- what took me so long!!

That's probably one of the main filming locations I haven't seen actually. There's an adress in Jo's unauthorised biography, that I happened to have read yesterday in actual fact. It's not the adress of the studios, so it really should be the house showed in the series. I'll have a look for you tonight!

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

Damn me, whilst I read that adress last night I told myself I had to put my bookmark between the right pages - I just knew I was going to need it. I'll get back to you on this one!

Edit: I've found the adress, but I'm not quite sure if it's something they've made up for the show or a real street. 34 Claremont Avenue, London W11 4BX. I'd try to look it up on Google Maps before actually trying to find it, if I were you.

Oh wow, I never realised the address was actually in there. That's worth checking out next time we go to London

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

I'm on Google Maps now (yes, I'm that much of a nutter) and I'm beginning to fear it's just an address they made up for the series. I'm zooming in on Holland Park, but there's no such road there haha.

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

I'm fairly convinced one could find Jo's house though. We know what it looks like (Cat Woman), we know it's in South London and she's given some more clues about the area as well. Add the name of her husband to the puzzle, and well, there you go.

I wouldn't dream of going there though.

I've told my parents that when we go to see the Grace Kelly exhibition at the V&A that we will be going to Harvey Nick's, 5th Floor. There were no complaints!

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

I felt like checking the Holland PArk address again, and it doesnt seem to exist. Through the aid of Google Street view I am confident that it is not there.... :(

I remember when I was on the Jen forum (very briefly) that someone posted a photo of going to the house- does anyone happen to know where they went?

Yes, I believe Hannah's has been there. I asked her about it, but I don't think she ever read my question. So we still don't know where it is.

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

Yea, I've contacted her as well but no response as yet.

I decided to have a look on the Holland Park area, and came across Clarendon Road. It looks more in keeping with the style of the area- so maybe they filmed here?

I'm sorry to say this, but the whole Holland Park/Shepherd's Bush areas look like that.

They're all the same houses, and it seems almost impossible to tell one street corner from another... So unless Hannah remembers the address, I'm gonna give up the searching.

AbFab pilgramage should not have been so quick to dismiss lauramilyd's great detective work! :thumb:

I can confirm that the house used for the exterior of Edina Monsoon's house is indeed number 30, Clarendon Road, W11. If you go to the end of this clip:

http://www.megavideo.com/?v=KWFYD1NK

You will see Pats and Eddie coming out of a house which has a right-hand-side front door. They turn left and you can see that theirs is the second gate in. They walk towards a small bend in the road which has a blue 'Left' arrow sign on the right and a red 'No Entry' sign on the left (look closely).

I have been watching Ab Fab loads recently and have been obsessed with trying to work out where Eddie's house was! I knew from searching online that it was Holland Park, an area of London I've never been to, so I went to explore yesterday as I love going to exciting posh areas of London! I wondered up Holland Park Road assuming it would be there as I read online somewhere that Jen in real life used to live at number 67. Alas, I could tell that none of the houses were Eddies house as I knew the door was on the right and that it was semi detatched and had a small bend in the road outside. So, I went for a little walk around the back streets behind Holland Park tube, having already decided that I was never gonna find it, but thinking that it was a beautiful area anyway so I was glad I came there and then BANG! I recognised the little bend in the road and could match the stuff in the background and realised I was STOOD OUTSIDE EDDIE MONSOON'S HOUSE! WOOOOOOO! I WIN I WIN I WIN! hehehehe!

:hyper: :cheer: :hyper: :cheer: :hyper:

If you look on streetview here and turn the cursor right and look down the road, you will be able to see what I mean:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=3 ... CBMQ8gEwAA

What's interesting is you can't actually get outside number 30 on Streetview (This is number 38 you can see). I have a feeling this is because the people at number 30 (who will be remarkably rich) have opted out of streetview, maybe even because they know its a famous house. I suggest that it may even be the house of somebody who worked on the program?

Bit of Trivia: In Series Two when Patsy's sis comes to stay, Eddie says that the house cost 1.5m, but actually the house would today go for much closer
to....

TWELVE MILLION! This one a few doors down which is the same size has just been sold:

http://www.marshandparsons.co.uk/london ... mit=Search

Anyway, as the only member of this forum that has stood outside Eddie's house, let me tell you that it was...

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.

All my love,

x

Re: AbFab pilgrimage

Good detective work!
I found it myself last year and it has been extensively renovated. The reason for the street view alteration is in fact because it is a one way street... so the car with camera would not have been able to physically drive past the wrong way to record it!
It's a lovely area, isn't it?
