the Purdey hair in 'Birth'..

They also made these jokes about Patsy having been a Bond girl, and a model, so I'm sure Jennifer was purposely hinting at Joanna's past

Haha, yes, that's true.. I've never been really convinced that the part was written for her, but it was certainly adapted to her.. And not only in Bond films by the way, remember Pats 'cheeky cult movies'? Hope that bit wasn't Joanna's past though..

OMG though, that is TOTALLY the Purdey Bob in that flashback in 'Birth' ..I'm with ya on this one Philly, I think Jen must've written it that way haha..Or heck, maybe the hairstylist decided to take some creative licence there and make it the Purdey hair coz the flashback took place in the 70s!!

I think this is perhaps my favourite bit of AbFab. The audience just roars! It's fully intentional--there have been too many other TNA references associated for the series for it to be otherwise.

I haven't watched the show in a few years, so I didn't recall it was a catsuit--just that the top with the scarf reminded me of her motorcycle gear. It's quite amazing how slapping a wig on Joanna, even in the mid-nineties, made her pretty much look like Purdey again.

Well in the short bit after the end credits, when Eddie's sitting on the bed, waiting for the woman of the adoption agency to turn up, Patsy is standing up. So then you can actually see that it's a catsuit she's wearing. But even if it had just been a leather jacket, it would still have been very Purdey, just her usual motorcycle gear

I remember that bit, although on the grotty VHS I was watching things were a bit fuzzy. It always amuses me that they stick Joanna in catsuits even though Purdey never wore one (save the "green slime" in "Eagle's Nest"). Sort of a Purdey/Emma hybrid (there are worse things ).

OMG yes!!! When they're listening to Eddy's segment on Desert Island Discs! They're trying to figure out what the host's last name is and one is like "Sue...?" and Patsy's like "Lumley?" and Jen's like "Lawley! Sue Lawley!" Very cute!!
