CTV is a Canadian television network. It aired both the Avengers and TNA when they were first shown in Canada. Still around today, and their logo is still exactly the same. So nice little connection for me.

And another one that can go in the ring spotting thread

Maartje wrote:Cute, but tough! I love that Purdey rides a bike, it's the total opposite of what you would expect of a girl running around in heels and wearing clothes like that. But then again, that's the typical image of the Avenger girl, innit?
So there are a few differences. Purdey's fun because she doesn't look like she should be able to high kick you, and when she does it's hilarious because the two images are so different.

Maartje wrote:Exactly! I guess that's why the series appeasl to me so much, it's not just the man doing the job while the women are standing beside being pretty. I love the tough side of all the Avenger girls, and with that little spark of glam and charm, they're just the perfect television series.
Altough I must say it has been all Emma for me recently. The dynamic going on between Purdey and Gambit's great, but nothing tops a bit of flirthing between Emma and Steed.

Oh, I've got CTV, good to notice that it already existed at that time.

Timeless A-Peel wrote:And yes, Steed and Emma are pretty much the creme de la creme of partnerships. Rigg and Macnee had the sort of chemistry that happens once a century.

Oh, absolutely. The best example is Forget Me Not, because the sadness behind Emma's goodbye wasn't entirely acted.![]()
I can imagine Purdey and Gambit are easier to write for because - in contrast with Emma and Steed - they actually do cry and lose their temper. If it wasn't for Steed, you'd almost say their two entirely different shows based on the same theme...

Do you seriously have CTV? As in "Canadian Television" (which is what it stands for)? How on earth do you get it over in France?

I've got it via streaming, on my computer and I even downloaded series broadcast on that channel. Many shows airing on ABC (America) air on this channel in Canada.![]()

As soon as I saw it I had to get the whole magazine it came in. I think it was worth it, don't you?

I've got it on the Avengers forum already. I'm thinking of making it into a signature and using it here. What do you think?

It's fantastic, one of the most utterly gorgeous Joanna/Gambit shots I've ever seen. Wow.
