It's probably a long list. Purdey eats all the time, and you can imagine what she'd be like pregnant, so she's likely been through everything at least once. You'd need an encyclopedia to keep track of it all. Poor Gambit--I think he's more tired out by the whole experience than she is.

I like marshmallows, but not as many as Purdey likes to eat at once. I wonder who did come up with it? Probably Brian Clemens.

Purdey's a random sort of character. I can see Brian Clemens coming up with the marshmallow thing--she's really the most eccentric Avenger since Steed, so that would be the sort of quirk he'd give her (a rare bit of Avengers character continuity).

I want marshmallows and hot chocolate, too!

To be quite honest, I don't even like marshmallows. They're good when you're having them straight from the fire, singing campfire songs, but that's it for me.

I like to think Joanna herself came up with some details that define Purdey's character so much though. She does care about the roles she plays, and she obviously thinks about character development and these kind of details. There are so many examples of little things Jo came up with when she did Patsy, I'm sure she did the same thing with Purdey.

Joanna did say that she tried to infuse as much of herself into Purdey as possible, if only because, as Patrick said, they were playing "cartoon characters," and as such it wasn't worth trying to sketch them out in too much detail. Joanna also said she tried to keep quirks to a minimum because it was too hard to remember them all and keep things consistent, and also because the episodes were shot and shown in a random order. I know she kept the same simple stud earrings for continuity purposes, and that she wanted Purdey to be a very no-nonesense woman with easy-to-keep hair and no real boyfriends who didn't try to attract men because it happened anyway.

Whoops, I've let a huge chunk of time pass without updating "Vignettes." What can I say? I've been busy finishing "Life on Mars" rewrites, and plotting a new arc story. But rest assured, a new piece is up, and I have plans for this plotline. It has to conclude before Christmas, because I want my Christmas story to link up with it. Highlighted as usual. Enjoy!

Yeah, it's rare I write a scene that switches over in the middle like that, but I did this time around. Poor Gambit indeed--he doesn't know what to do, really, and neither does Purdey. The idea of having a kid is a bit different than the reality, and how do you tread the fine line between protective and smothering? He just doesn't want her to end up shot. Of course, there's going to be a twist coming up here... But yeah, I feel for poor Mike, too.

Oh dear, Purdey's giving the boys a hard time... But the idea of the ministry guys betting on her and Gambit's pretty harsh, isn't it?

The Ministry boys will bet on anything, I'm afraid, especially where Gambit and Purdey are concerned. If they heard what Purdey just said, there would be an awful lot of money changing hands.
